Revs Sign Ashby: No, I'm not talking about Andy Ashby, the former Philadelphia Phillies pitcher who played with Lancaster Barnstormers manager Von Hayes in 1991. Imagine that match-up if Hayes actually played last night? (See yesterday's news for more on that.)
Instead, York went seven years younger, inking first baseman Chris Ashby, as reported by Jeff Johnson of the York Dispatch. Ashby has Triple-A experience with the Florida Marlins, New York Yankees (he played six years under current Kansas City Royals manager Trey Hillman), Chicago White Sox, Los Angeles Dodgers and Texas Rangers organizations. He also played indy ball in the Northern League in 2002 before being picked up by the Marlins.
Ashby was 0-for-4 in his Atlantic League debut. As a corresponding move, the team deactivated reliever Reid Price. - Scott Stanchak
Ramsey To Sign With Southern Maryland: I spoke to P Keith Ramsey today, and the word is that he'll be signed by the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs and activated mid-week.
"I feel ready," said Ramsey, who recently returned from Taiwan.
Ramsey's been throwing to catchers since he came back, and has been looking for an opportunity in the league for a few weeks now. He told me that the Blue Crabs were the first team to really show consistent interest.
The Patriots, who recently worked out a former Major Leaguer with experience in the league, were not in the running.
"I'm going to miss Somerset, I loved that place," Ramsey said.
Crabs Trade Nichols: The Southern Maryland Blue Crabs have traded Kyle Nichols to the Lancaster Barnstormers for the ever popular future considerations.
Nichols was hitting .245 with five home runs and 25 RBI and was an everyday player for the club. Kind of an odd move.
Patriots Add Jacobsen, Till: The Somerset Patriots have activated P Landon Jacobsen and also agreed to terms with P Brock Till.
Jacobsen had originally signed with York, but was apparently injured.
Till had five years of experience in the Reds system, and was released out of Double-A by the Devil Rays this season. - MA

Blue Crabs trade Kyle Nichols to Lancaster.
Good part of the season underway...any predictions yet? first half winners?
As a Blue Crabs fan I am disappointed by this Nichols trade. I know he was struggling, but tell me he wasn't built for that 306 ft wall...
According to the Blue Crabs site, SP Dan Reichert was purchased by the Indians. Congrats to Dan.
i did a little research after you told me about your "thing", and if you want a way to make more money using your your blog you can enter this site: link. bye.
